She was predeceased by: her husband Albert Mailhes; her parents, William Becnel and Leocadie Martin Becnel; her brothers, William "Mac" Becnel, Jr. and Lester Becnel; and her niece Bridget Becnel.

She is survived by: her sister-in-law Elsie Mae Becnel; and her nephews, Chad Mailhes (Kathy) and Randy Becnel (Kathy). She is also survived by numerous friends and relatives, but especially by her four legged friend.

In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to St. Patrick's Church are preferred.

I know she is now a saint and celebrating "The Communion of Saints," I also know she had achieved the greatest desire all of us on earth should have ~ she has seen the Face of God! Oh, My! Vera was my first-grade teacher in Port Sulphur, LA. she was the most wonderful lady and teacher! She was also a very good friend to my mother who also taught and to me and a lot of her students as we grew up. God bless you Vera! I will always love you!”
