He was predeceased by: his parents, James Floyd "Cotton" Seals and Wilton Godfrey Seals; his wife Shirley; his son Dennis; his sisters, Gay Lynn Seals of Bossier City and Georgia Mae Southerland (Oscar Southerland) of Baton Rouge; and his nephew Ray Southerland.
He is survived by: his sons, James W Seals, Jr. of Bossier Parish and Ronnie Seals (Felicia) of Shreveport; his niece Tena Krumholt of Prairieville; and his close friends, Mike, Jeanie Grigsby, Chuck Cook, Alysia Cook and Kennon Cook Shannon.
