We bid farewell to Barbara Burns of Bethany, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 12, 2025 at the age of 79. Barbara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stella Beulah Jackson and Ernest Lee Burns, Sr.; her siblings, Ernest Burns Jr., Willie Burns, Jean Oliver, Mae Byrd, Dot Futrell and Kay Rogers-Crouch; and her son David Valenzuela.
She is survived by: her sister Patricia Nolan of Waskom; her grandson Jack Valenzuela of Shreveport, LA; her daughter-in-law Deborah Valenzuela of Shreveport, LA; and her brother-in-law Rendell Futrell of Marshall.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery (1167 Co Rd 328, De Berry, TX 75639).
