He was predeceased by: his former wife Janie E. Watts; his parents, Hazel C. Penton and John W. Penton; his brother John Allen Penton; and his stepdaughter Edna Ann Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Welch Penton of Bogalusa, LA; his son Christopher "Chris" Edward Penton of Bogalusa, LA; his grandchildren, Zander "Bean" Penton, Tucker Lee and Brittany Lee; his daughters, Vanessa Vega (Lalo) and Kelly Miller; his stepdaughter Julie Miller (Cliff Ritchie); his sister Nita Roberts (Billy); and his caregiver Sharon Varnado. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Ave, Bogalusa, LA 70427). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
