He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harris and Helen Smith Harris; his wife Brenda Alford Harris; his sisters, Elouise Harris Quave Parker (Walter Quave) and Faye Harris Foust (Tommy); his parents-in-law, Bill and Bessie Alford; his sister-in-law Freda Alford Bennett (Floyd); his nephew Scott Bennett (Sue); and his great-nephews, Zachary Harris and Anthony Marcello.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Harris and Kristy St (Joey); his grandson Hudson Harris; his siblings, Frank Harris (Jackie) of Bogalusa and Mary Aman (Tommy) of Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Kim Lively (Brian), Monica Triana (Brad), Cheryl Marcello (Gary), Helen Cotton (Billy), Amy Cann (Dray), Amanda Aman, Brent Harris (Judy), Jonathan Aman, Blake Bennett (Susan), Gregg Bennett (Loretta) and Mark Bennett (Lauranna); and his friends, Ken, Bettye Magee, Dale and Judy Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to First Baptist Church of Bogalusa in Elbert's memory, since he loved his church so dearly.
