He is survived by: his sons, Johnny Crain, Jr. (Tammy Thomas Crain) of Varnado, Louisiana. and Brian Crain (Samantha Dykes Crain) of Varnado, Louisiana.; his grandchildren, Janna Crain, Jonathan, Kirsten Crain, Johnny D. Crain, III (Marissa), Joshua Crain, Madison Crain, James H. Stillwell and Jacob Stillwell; his brother Lester (Tillie Crain) of Abita Springs, LA; his siblings-in-law, Sheila Crain of Bogalusa and James H. Stillwell, Jr.; his siblings, James Crain, Preston (Betty Crain), Horace (Mae Crain), David Crain, Ricky Crain (Wanda Crider), Alice (Clyde Terrell), Darlene (Jerry Gerald), Claudia Branch, Winnie (Charles Netto), Elgie (Dewayne Taylor), Linda Nell (Roy Duncan), Annette Batson and Doris Crain; and his siblings-in-law, Berkley and Joyce Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
