Maris D. Stallings Johnston Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maris D. Stallings Johnston of Bonita, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin A. Johnston, Jr.; her parents, Conrad Stallings and Mozelle Stallings; her sister Yvonne McKoin; and her parents-in-law, Melvin Johnston, Sr. and Amelda Johnston.
She is survived by: her children, U. B. "Udie" Herrington (Leslie), Charlotte Strother and Deede McDowell (B. J.); her niece Tresa Moyers (Trey); her brother-in-law Lee McKoin (Tabatha Williams); her grandchildren, Drew Morse, Kristen Herrington, Brett Herrington, Carlie McDowell, Claire Herrington, Cassidy Alexander, Hayden Alexander, Baron Lee McDowell, William Tisdale, Amber Tisdale and Robert Walton; and her close friends, Mary Cox and Ann Standridge. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220).
