He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurshell Compton and Ruby Stewart; his wife Rebecca V. Compton; his siblings, Hazel, Jean, Mary, Edith and Melvin Compton; and his nephew Ray Wise of Waskom.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stacy Brown, Tracy C. Baudoin (Tom) and Amanda B. Compton; his grandchildren, Dylan Baudoin and Kobie Ward Jordan; his great grandchildren, Jayden, Braylin, Koda, Ashton and Tatum; and his sister-in-law Penny LeRoux. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
