Maxine Thornton Ammons Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Thornton Ammons of Bossier City, Louisiana, born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dale Ammons; her parents, Boyd Thornton and Geri Damrow; her siblings, Carl Thornton and Valarie Potvin; her mother-in-law Elsie Heckart; and her great grandchild Addison Vining.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Smith (Thomas), Christina Allen (Cecil), Joshua King (Becky), Tammi Bunting and Brandi Bunting; her siblings, Camille Watson (Bob) and Jeffery Thornton; and her brother-in-law Dana Potvin. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Homes - Bossier City (2201 Airline Dr, Bossier City, LA 71111). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at the Rose-Neath Cemetery (5185 Swan Lake Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111).
In place of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Shreveport, http://www.shrinerschildrens.org, because Maxine believed in helping kids and never met a cause she wouldn't support with her whole heart.
