He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thornton and Lovie Thornton; his son Blake Thornton; his grandson Chad Thornton; his sister Martha Rich; and his daughter-in-law Marlene Thornton.
He is survived by: his children, Leslie Crowell, Eric Thornton, Tony Thornton (Dana) and Amy Thornton; his daughter-in-law Jeanette Thornton; his grandchildren, Jeremy Thornton, Amanda Thornton, Natalie Crowell, Jessica Thornton, Cameron Thornton and Alyssa Thornton; and his great grandchildren, Cason Stephens and Colton Thornton. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to First Baptist Church Bossier or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
