He was predeceased by: his parents, Mickey Lewellyn Smith Sr. and Millie Brewer Smith; his grandson Theodore "Teddy" Wells Jr. (Bubba); his great grandchild Christian Wells Jr.; his son-in-law Theodore "Teddy" Wells Sr.; and his brothers, Benny, Mike and Edward Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Riley; his daughter Ethel Smith Wells; his grandchildren, Patricia Carol Wells (Bill), Christian Wells (Alicia), Christina Wells (Jack), Jamie Wells (Bill) and Diana Wells; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Destiny, Stacey, Silas, Jack, Dakota, Praise Lynn and Theodore "Teddy" (Bubba); his siblings, Gary Smith (Phamie), Shelby Brewer and Cecila Swaney; and his sister-in-law Gainey Smith.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the World Harvest Lighthouse Church (125 E Butcher Switch Rd, Lafayette, LA 70507). A burial was held on Saturday, April 18th 2026 at the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery (4113 N University Ave, Carencro, LA 70520).
