“I am very sad to learn of Ms. Winnie’s passing but I know she had a long, good life. She inspired me with her buoyant attitude and independence. She was one of my mother’s best friends and neighbors. I enjoyed bringing Moma to go visit her. Ms. Winnie would reminisce about how Barbara took her to Crystal Beach and how much fun they all had. She said they called themselves the “Golden Girls.” I hope she’s now joined my mother, Barbara Davis, and her other good friends and loved ones in heaven or wherever souls go to pass a good time. My condolences to her loving family.”
