Thibeaux; his parents-in-law, Selina Thomas Benjamin and Joseph "Jock" Benjamin; and his brothers-in-law, Clarence Edmond and Milton Alex.
He is survived by: his wife Vanessa Marie Smith; his mother Mary T. Smith; his children, JaKara Renee Thomas (Edward) and Jermaine Lee Smith; his grandchildren, Diamond Don'Jenee Darby and Jeanaya Troynessa Fontenette; his great grandchild Sevyn Amon Darby; his siblings, Linda Edmond, John L. Smith, Sr. (Andrea) and Michael Charles Smith (Elizabeth); his siblings-in-law, Cynthia Wilkins (Junius) of Fontana, Amanda Guillory (Nicholas) of Abilene, Texas, Anthony Alex of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mark Thomas of Lafayette, Louisiana and Dwayne Thomas of Lafayette, Louisiana; and his friends, Ted Broussard, Ronnie Broussard and Tony Rabon. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Carl to the New Church Expansion Fund at St. Anne Catholic Church.
