He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde Smith and Mildred Pitts; his son Matthew Smith; and his brother Donald Smith. He is survived by : his caregiver Dale Guzman; and his daughters, Dr. Athena DuPre (Grant Brown) and Sarah Demuth. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
