He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar T. Honey and Euphemia J. Johnson Honey; and his brother Elvin K. Honey. He is survived by : his wife Carrie C. Honey; his children, James H. Honey II (Christine) and Kimberly L. Breaux (Daniel); his grandchildren, Lindsey G. Sandoz (Steven) and Isabella D. Breaux; his great grandchild Stevie Rae Sandoz; his sister Beverly J. Honey; and his pet Rosie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Acadiana.
