She was predeceased by: her husband Wilfred "Will" Smith; her sons, Roy Smith and Clem Smith; her parents, Clem Guidry and Leola Perrio Guidry; her siblings, Louis Guidry (Ettaline "Cat" Guidry), Howard Guidry (Elsie), Lydia Riche, Ledie Wyble Marks, Emma Gauthier and Alice Hicks; and her granddaughter Tanya Salazor.
She is survived by: her caregivers, Steve, Beverly Wilson, Jim and Gwen Burke; her children, Edward Gauthier of Dupont and Betty Bergeron (Gillman) of Broussard; her grandchildren-in-law, Joseph and Karlee Roy of Broussard; and her pet Adam. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home (2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
