It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lovenia Sanders Washington of Broussard, Louisiana, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Lawrence Sanders and Seleina Sam Brooks; her brothers, Melvin Sam, Johnny Sam, Earl Sereal, Sr. and Jefferson Brooks, Jr.; her stepfather Jefferson Brooks, Sr.; and her grandson Chosen Michael of Washington.
She is survived by : her children, Diana Coleman (Adrian) of Broussard, LA, Norma Lewis (Greg) of Lafayette, LA, Carolyn Jones of Texas City, TX, Janice of Saint Martinville, LA, Isaac of Lafayette, LA and Michael (Janita) of Texas City, TX; and her sisters, Mary Lee Roy of Corpus Christi, TX, Alice Thomas of New Iberia, LA, Beverly Lumpkin (Douglass) of Port Arthur, TX, Joyce Brooks of New Iberia, LA and Audrey Smothers (Alton) of Lake Charles, LA. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
