Hazel Chelette McDonald Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 5, 2025, at the age of 98, Hazel Chelette McDonald of Bunkie, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Curtis McDonald, Sr.; her parents, Felix, Sr. Chelette and Philomena Bordelon Chelette; her granddaughter Amy McDonald Guillory; and her siblings, Claudia Johnson, Beatrice Hicks, Carrie Moreau, Julia Polotzola of Leonard Chelette, J. D, Felix Chelette, Jr., Clayton "Sonny" Chelette and Roy Chelette.
She is survived by: her children, Hansen McDonald of Cottonport, Jackie M. Lemoine (Penn) of Mansura and Curtis J. "Boo" McDonald, Jr. of Bunkie; her grandchildren, Brian McDonald, Monica Desselle, Amanda Plauche, Gina Juneau and Miles McDonald; and her great grandchildren, Brittany, Briana, Lucas, Hunter, Eryn, Zachary, Christian, Brayden, Jacob, Kinley and Hudson. She is also survived by 7 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home (302 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322). A rosary was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthonoy of Padua Catholic Church (409 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322).
