He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Chenevert Ducote; his parents, Ogere Ducote and Lurtie Ducote; and his siblings, Helen Poret, Grace Laborde and Harold Ducote.

He is survived by: his children, Randy Ducote (Connie) and Cindy Ducote Craft (Paul) of Hoover, AL; and his grandchildren, Chris Ducote (Heather), Donovan Ducote (Ashlea), Ryan Ducote (Dezi), Julie Craft Whitley (Brad), David Craft (Misumi) and Heather Ducote (Elvis). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (108 N Lexington Ave, Bunkie, LA 71322). A Mass was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (3659 Main St, Hessmer, LA 71341). A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the St. Mary Walk St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Cemetery (3659 Main St, Hessmer, LA 71341).
