It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Howard Mixon of Bunkie, Louisiana, who passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lee Mixon and Bonnie West Mixon. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Hensgens Mixon; his children, James H. Mixon Jr. (April) of Crowley, Catherine Mixon Schendel (Jarrod) of Baton Rouge and Samuel H. Mixon (Jennifer) of Crowley; his siblings, William Mixon (Kitty) and Fran Callahan of Bunkie; and his grandchildren, James (Tripp), Matthew, Zachary, Lucille, Emmitt, Loren, Reid, Anson and Alyse.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Calvary Episcopal Church (401 S Lexington Ave, Bunkie, LA 71322). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
