We announce the death of Jeanette Barron Armand of Bunkie, Louisiana, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 94. Jeanette will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert "Bro" Armand; her parents, Paul Barron and Lizera Barron; and her siblings, Verlee Barron McCoy (Roy) and Paul Barron (Quinn).
She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Armand Thayer (Tommy) of Bunkie; her grandchildren, Jeremy Thayer (DeAnna) of Plaucheville and Julie Thayer Rogers (Glenn Jr.) of Plaucheville; and her great grandchildren, Anthony Thayer, Lily Rogers, Ethan Rogers, Jeanette Rachal-Johnson (Nathan), Doris Redmon and BreAnna Redmon. She is also survived by 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (108 N Lexington Ave, Bunkie, LA 71322). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (200 S Holly St, Bunkie, LA 71322). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pythian Cemetery (100 Pecan St, Bunkie, LA 71322).
