He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Townsend and Alfred Townsend; and his siblings, Elsworth Townsend, Jimmie Townsend, Johnny Townsend, Edgar Townsend, Evelyn Rubenstein, Barbara Tessling, Betty Hoosier and Gloria Guillaumin.
He is survived by: his sister Linda Townsend Mayeaux of Bridge City, TX; his wife Gilda Townsend of Moss Bluff; his daughters, Malinda T. Kadair (Brett) of Baton Rouge, Misty Townsend (Joe) of Covington and Scarlett Townsend of Moss Bluff; his grandchildren, Dorian Sanchez (Renee), Ruby Kadair (Travis), Nicholas Spell (Raegan), Brendon Spell, Samuel Spell and Gabriel Spell (Penelope Rose Townsend); and his great grandchildren, Jaxton Spell, Grayson Spell, Riley Spell and Mila Spell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (108 N Lexington Ave, Bunkie, LA 71322). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of the Little Flower (2912 Main St, Evergreen, LA 71333).
