She was predeceased by: her husband James M Hicks Jr.; her daughter Shannon (Robert Himmel); her parents, Percy Achord and Lena Achord; and her siblings, Marshall Achord, Joseph Achord (Buddy), Rodney Achord, Lois Neil, Ester Watts (Tiny) and Evelyn Simoneaux.
She is survived by: her children, Bryan, Joann Hicks, Lori, Wayne Durant and Chris Hicks; and her grandchildren, Ashton Brown, Whitney Brown, Colton Hutchins, Jacob, Megan Hicks, April Magee, Hailey Hicks, Dustin Chutz (Nate), Callie Chutz, Cameron White, Phoenix, Everlee and Jude Hicks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home (302 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
