It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Pruitt of Bunkie, Louisiana, who passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Pruitt and Lois Lemoine Pruitt; her husband Lester Marcotte; and her siblings, Linda P. Lamb, Linda P. Thomason, Susan Pruitt and John Pruitt.
She is survived by: her children, Ella Dauzat (Chris) of Marksville, Laura Pruitt of Mansura, Lester Pruitt of Mansura and Ben Pruitt of Hessmer; her siblings, Evelyn Janelle Wade (David) of Bunkie, Evelyn Bordelon (Gary) of Cottonport, Linda Pruitt of Bunkie, Donald Pruitt of Alexandria, Moses Pruitt of Alexandria and Ricky Pruitt of Alexandria; and her grandchildren, Melissa Dupuy, Isaac Dupuy, Jarren Goodson and Luke Dauzat. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Chapel of Melancon Funeral Home (108 N Lexington Ave, Bunkie, LA 71322).
