She was predeceased by: her close friend Albert Stiner; her daughters, Laura Mae Carter and Patricia Ann Carter; her parents, Ernest Landry and Octavia "Nanny" Thomas-Pitre; and her siblings, Roland Joseph Landry, Mary Rovenia Mouton, Catherine Jones and Linda Marie Trailer.
She is survived by: her children, Paul "Kim" Joseph Carter, Mary C. Bernard (Carl) and Theresa Carter; her caregiver Abby Thomas; and her sister Tracy Landry. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4117 N University Ave, Carencro, LA 70520). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
