With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sidney Joseph Smith (Carencro, Louisiana), born in Rayne, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Smith; his grandparents, Earl, Mable Smith, Theo and Rose Richard; his uncle JC Richard; his aunt Norma-Jean Richard; his father-in-law Anthony Zeringue; and his brother-in-law Roland Leblanc.
He is survived by: his children, Jace Smith, Kyla Johnson (Joshua) and Iris Guidry; his grandsons, Levi Carter Smith of Allen Francis and Johnson; his close friend Ursula Lejeune; his children, Brooke Carriere (Cody) and Brittany Ledoux (Jayde); his grandchildren, Adalynn, Porter, Cole, Hazel, Ellie, Jolee and Palmer; his mother Dorothy Smith; his sister Denise Smith; his sibling's children, Brittany Leblanc and Tylor Guilbeau; and his grand-pup Athena-Lee.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4615 N University Ave, Carencro, LA 70520). A rosary was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that monetary contributions are made towards the unexpected funeral expense in Sidney's honor.
