He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Smith; his grandparents, Earl, Mable Smith, Theo and Rose Richard; his uncle JC Richard; his aunt Norma-Jean Richard; his father-in-law Anthony Zeringue; and his brother-in-law Roland Leblanc.
He is survived by: his children, Jace Smith, Kyla Johnson (Joshua) and Iris Guidry; his grandsons, Levi Carter Smith of Allen Francis and Johnson; his close friend Ursula Lejeune; his children, Brooke Carriere (Cody) and Brittany Ledoux (Jayde); his grandchildren, Adalynn, Porter, Cole, Hazel, Ellie, Jolee and Palmer; his mother Dorothy Smith; his sister Denise Smith; his niece Brittany Leblanc; his nephew Tylor Guilbeau; and his grand-pup Athena-Lee.
In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that monetary contributions are made towards the unexpected funeral expense in Sidney's honor.
