He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Stratton Jones Johnson and Howard Taft Johnson Sr.; his brother Walter William Johnson; and his son Howard "Buddy" Taft Johnson. He is survived by: his daughter Alice Rose Johnson Ginart; his son-in-law Michael C. Ginart Jr.; his grandchildren, John Claude Ginart (Ashley) and Jayne Cecelia Ginart (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Averi, Michael and Beau; his nieces and nephews, Augustine, Jacob Johnson and Jacqueline Johnson Caminita (Jack); his great-niece Gianna Rey Caminita; and his goddaughter Stacie Pecar Dumas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home (701 W Virtue St, Chalmette, LA 70043). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you enjoy a good meal, read a favorite book, or take a quiet moment in the garden in his memory.
