She was predeceased by: her husband Johnny Akers; and her parents, Wallace Couvillion and Hilda Couvillion. She is survived by: her daughters, Shawn (Gordon "Red Bird"), Guidry, Linda Tillman, Bronwyn McKelvy and Chris Bourque (Carla); and her siblings, Buelah Robinson, Brenda Couvillion, Wallace Couvillion, Stanley Scallan and Alton Scallan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
