He was predeceased by: his grandson Aaron J. Richard; his parents, Elvin Richard and Mary Alice M. Richard; his grandmother Onezime Matte; and his siblings, Servant of God, Charlene Marie Richard, Gene and Dean Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Lorita LeJeune Richard of Richard; his children, Francis (Maria Richard) of Jacksonville, FL, Charlene (Michael Naquin) of Kingwood, TX, Nancy (Tim Hale) of Scott, Melonie (Michael Doucet) of Sunset, Sara (Brent Melancon) of Plaisance, Halie Richard McGrath of Austin, TX and Ruby Thome of Scott; and his siblings, Lonnie (Elaine Richard) of Richard, Anna (Rod LeLeaux) of Church Point, Theresea (Damon Olivier) of Church Point, Elaine Carriere of Richard, Earline (Reggie Doucet) of Church Point and Angela (Wendell Middlebrooks) of Richard. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Duhon Funeral Home (701 S Broadway St, Church Point, LA 70525). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:20 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the St. Edward Catholic Church (1463 Charlene Hwy, Church Point, LA 70525).
