He is survived by: his wife Essie Scott Cockrell; his son Dr. Ross T. Cockrell (Dallas) of Baton Rouge; his grandson Ross Tanner Cockrell Jr.; his brother Jimmy Cockrell (Brenda) of Pineville; and his brother-in-law Lonnie Scott Jr. of Bluff Creek.
