He was predeceased by : his father William Riley Gilmore; and his brothers, William R. Gilmore, Sr. and Allen J. Gilmore. He is survived by : his wife Shirley Gilmore of Columbia; his daughters, Shelley Kelly (Nathan) of Columbia and Ginny Gilmore of Monroe; his brother Jerry Gilmore (Kathy) of Denham Springs, LA; and his grandchildren, Brooke Wilcher (Lamar), Dustin Laphan, Madalyn Howard (Ethan), Rebecca Parr (Carlos) and Cady Oxner (Logan). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church (1740 LA-133, Columbia, LA 71418). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Duncan Cemetery.
