He was predeceased by : his parents, Simmie Lewis and Magnolia Evans Lewis; and his siblings, Simmie Mae Autman, Vera Mae Martin, Dorothy Marie Byas, Charles Edward Lewis, James Kelly Lewis, Leroy Lewis and Joe Henry Lewis.

He is survived by : his daughters, Rose Dixon and Jacquetta Carter (Keith); his siblings, Jessie Dee Lewis, Eloise Emmerson, Betty Sue Lewis, Carolyn Ann Scott, Alice Faye Lewis, Jeanette Lewis, Elaine Curry and Hazel Jean Lewis; and his grandchildren, LaDonte McAfee, Jacqasia McAfee, Malasia McAfee, Dominic McAfee, Nicholas Duncan of Gregory Jones, JR, Aerial Jordan and Allyson Kettley.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riser Funeral Homes (7131 US-165, Columbia, LA 71418). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Brownville Baptist Church (156 Brownville Church Rd, Columbia, LA 71418). The military honors was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oakley Cemetery (733 Oakley Rd, Gilbert, LA 71336).
