She was predeceased by : her husband Walve Bruce Franklin; her parents, Margaret Lauer Herbst and Georg Herbst; her brother Hanriech Herbst; and her son-in-law Jerry Broadway.

She is survived by : her daughters, Sylvia Broadway and Susie Richard (Dan); her siblings, Hans Herbst, Valentin Herbst and Erika Uzelino; her grandchildren, Sabrina Ross (James), Jonathon Broadway, Chris Richard and Alison Richard; her great grandchildren, Hannah Pese, Jaydon Ross, Cameron Ross, Tyler Broadway, Blake Broadway and Maddilynn Broadway; and her great great grandchild Kahlan Pese.
