He is survived by : his wife Nellie McGuire Washam; his children, Robert Layne Washam (Rhonda), Cheryl Washam Darden (Deno), Michael Glen Washam (Lori), Angela Washam Wallace and Jennifer Washam Beckley (Tyron); and his grandchildren, Benjamin Washam (Cindi), Jarrod Wallace (Ashley), Slade Darden, Jacob Wallace (Rebecca), Victoria Anderson (Phillip), Kimberly Maxwell (J. T.), Sydney Parr (Cody), Lauren Messer (James) and Zachery Beckley (Haley). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethany Baptist Church (1740 LA-133, Columbia, LA 71418). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
