He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean Mayeux; his grandson Jerry Mayeux; his parents, Edwin Mayeux and Vivian Gauthier Mayeux; and his siblings, Barbara Laborde, Donald Mayeux, Freddie Mayeux and Floyd Mayeux.
He is survived by: his children, Geraldine Ducote, Gary Mayeux, Mike Mayeux, Ricky Mayeux, Steve Mayeux and Arthur Mayeux; his sister Bernadine Laborde; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Annie, Emily, Jacob, Farrah, Wesley, Linsley, Kaitlyn, Isaiah, Israel, Elizabeth, Cade, Colby, Reagan, Greg and Nick. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Escude Funeral Home (552 Front St, Cottonport, LA 71327). A Mass will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church (820 Front St, Cottonport, LA 71327). A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the St. Mary #2 Cemetery (498 Indian Bayou Rd, Cottonport, LA 71327).
