He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie Everett Teekell and Ruth Genoa Teekell; his brother Charley Joe Teekell; his nephew Joe Glen Teekell; his great-nephew Shannon Blaine Smith; his great-niece Amanda Elizabeth Moran; and also Hannah Elizabeth Moran.

He is survived by : his nieces, Sharon Teekell Smith (Ronnie Smith), Cynthia Teekell Jacobs (Dale Jacobs) and Charlene Teekell Locke (Ricky Locke); and his nephew Tracy Mel Teekell (Mary Teekell).
