She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis Wayne McDow and Dorothy Heap McDow; and her siblings, Dennis McDow, Patrick McDow and Nancy McDow Jourdan.

She is survived by: her husband Emile Alfred "Al" Strain; her children, Britt Thomas Strain (Sandra) of Emile John and Sara Strain Mendow (Ryan); her grandchildren, Emile Patrick Strain, Jaci Marie Strain, Amelia McCoy Mendow, Henry, Camilla and Belen Frech; her siblings, Elaine Bulloch, Jane McNeill (Tom), Beverly Holliday (Steve), Barbara Pierpont (Lex), Mary Acquistapace (David), Sylvia McDow, Rose Anne McDow, Scott McDow and Glenn McDow; and her caregiver Ashley Strain. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
