We are sad to announce that on June 25, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Dorothea Sheppard Gegenheimer of Covington, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Harper Sheppard, Jr. and Dorothy Bernadine Keese Sheppard; and her sister Judy Sheppard Driskill. She is survived by: her husband Henry F. "Fred" Gegenheimer; her children, Nicholas James Laird (Brenda), Sarah Jane Sunderman (Jarrod) and Matthew Henry Gegenheimer; and her grandchildren, Joseph, Esther, Stella and Wyatt. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Waldheim Church (77067 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at the Waldheim Church Cemetery (77067 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gegenheimer may be made to the Waldheim Church Blessing Box by mail to 77067 Highway 21, Covington, Louisiana, 70435, or in the form of canned goods, toiletries, or other nonperishables brought to the church.
