He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward P. Smith, Sr. and Thais Boe Smith. He is survived by: his wife Bennierita Smith; his children, Edward P. "Ted" Smith, III (Joan), Timothy "Tim" Smith (Annette) and Tricia Caminita (Chuck); his grandchildren, Parker Smith, Jeremy Sauvinet (Stacey), Kayla Smith, Carson Smith (Ashley), Alexandra Sauvinet (Ronnie) and Cullin Caminita; his great grandchildren, Braelyn Wilson, Ainsley Wilson, James Smith, Ford Smith and Prim Smith; and his brother Robert "Bob" Smith (Rosalyn).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
