With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Johnston Mooney of Covington, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on May 19, 2026 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Johnston and Kathryn Goodwin Stricklin. She is survived by: her husband Michael Huey Mooney; her siblings, Kimberley Johnston Hogsett (Jeff) and Joshua Thomas Stricklin; her stepson Michael J. Mooney; and her nieces and nephews, Graham Hogsett, Grayson Stricklin, Brooke Hogsett, Bayleigh Stricklin and Madeline Stricklin. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
