He is survived by: his wife Donna Rose Gardner; his children, James Gardner (Renee), Brian Gardner (Naiara), Rachael Gardner, Jennifer LeBlanc (David), John Paul Carpenter and Kevin Carpenter; his grandchildren, Eliot Gardner, Beatrice Gardner, Arianne Gardner, Ethan Gardner, Zachary Crain (Bethany), Brady Crain (Faith), Payton Saultz (Abbey), Brooke Rivas (Eyneerd) and David Leblanc Jr. (Whitney); his siblings, Geoffrey Gardner, Lee Gardner and Florence Gardner (Charles); his aunt Johnnie; Steve. He is also survived by many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grace Funeral Home & St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden (450 Holy Trinity Dr, Covington, LA 70433). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St Peter Catholic Church (125 E 19th Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery (75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA 70457).
