With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Van Dalton Jenkins Sr. in Covington, Louisiana, born in Colbert, Georgia, who passed away on November 4, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his great grandchild Ophelia Authement; his wife Martha Sue Hardigree Jenkins; his parents, Rachel Mildred Burt Jenkins and Dalton Jenkins; and his brother Burt Shepard.
He is survived by: his children, Van D. Jenkins, Jr. (Barbara), Jennifer Jenkins Leddy and Julie Jenkins Authement (Bruce); his grandchildren, Nicholas Authement (Sabri), Ashley Authement Wolf (Blake), Jacob Authement (Elizabeth), Mary Levey (Meg), Michael Leddy, Rebecca Leddy and Dagmar Jenkins; and his great grandchildren, Callen Wolf and Oakley Authement. He is also survived by true friend to his three children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433).
