She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Lee Meaux; her parents, Zena Matte Sr. and Zola Daigle Matte; her siblings, John Matte, Hubert Matte, Zena Matte, Jr., Allen J. Matte and Mary Alice Matte; and her grandson Jacob Caplinger.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Meaux (Paula) of Crowley, Paula Caplinger of Crowley, Todd H. Meaux (Rachel) of Crowley and Al J. Meaux (Anna) of Mamou; her grandchildren, Kelly S. Meaux, Michael Tyler Meaux, Emily Hallum, Eric Meaux, Matthew Meaux, Kristy Meaux and Zachary Meaux; and her brother Gerald Matte. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
Emma lived her faith through action, dedicating her time as a compassionate hospice volunteer, providing communion to shut-in parishioners, serving meals at the local soup kitchen and quietly donating to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital each month without fail.
