He was predeceased by: his son Shawn Hayes; his former wife Emma Jean "Jeanie" Dronet Hayes; his wife Karen Petry Hayes; his parents, Reginald Hayes and Grace McCall; and his siblings, Myra Hayes Hollier, Betty Hayes Butaud, Dorothy Hayes Cormier and Richard Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne "Suzie" Broussard (Darren), Michael Hayes (Mary), Kim R. Hayes and Christopher Hayes (Laura); his grandchildren, Erin Martinez (Joel), Jared Broussard (Isis), Chad Hayes, Eric Hayes (Megan), Blake Hayes (Chelsea), Robert McBeth, Laura McBeth Vetter (Brad), Emma Grace Hayes, Abigail Hayes, Alyson Soileau (Ross), Saul Hayes, Nathan Hayes, Kayla Campbell (Dakota), Christian Hayes, Emma Renee Hayes, Chloe Pettigrew and Zachary Pettigrew; and his great grandchildren, Kaleb Hayes, Raylan Hayes, Raiden Hayes, Vincent McBeth, Logan Hayes, Luna Vetter, Alina Martinez, Ada Martinez, Jackson Hayes, Vivian Hayes, Addison Campbell and Aspen Campbell.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM and on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Nazarene Church (1020 Ebenezer Rd, Crowley, LA 70526). Visitation was held on Friday, August 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
