He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ann Fasone Meche and Joseph Emile Meche Jr.; his brother Glenn Michael Meche; his in-laws, Garland Jefferson Hamic I and Edith Ross Hamic; and his grandchildren, John Robert "Jack" Meche and Kate Elizabeth Meche.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Hamic Meche; his brother Gene "Russell" Meche; his children, Rob Meche (Paula), Vicky Cotton (David), Tammy Meche, Connie Doughty (Christian) and Scott Meche (Sarah); his grandchildren, Matthew Cotton (Briley), Kasi Cotton Laprarie (Cody), Michael Doughty (Elea), Taylor Doughty (Olivia), Benjamin Doughty, William Doughty (Taylor), Allyson Meche, Caroline Meche, Davis Meche and Mary Katherine Meche; and his great grandchildren, Bess, Ellis, James, Bo, Luke, Reese, Reed, Levi and Henry.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to First Baptist Church of Crowley, Christian Care, or Mrs. Helen's Soup Kitchen.
