He was predeceased by: his parents, Narsidas Katira and Parvati Chandarana Katira; his former wife Marytheresa Katira; and his brother Ajit Katira. He is survived by: his wife Karla H. Katira of Lafayette; his sons, Kristopher Katira, MD (Hannah) of Columbus, OH and Jonathan Katira; and his grandchildren, Raj, Olive and John Avi Katira.

Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.
