With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Chester Pierre Vegas Sr. of Cut Off, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 30, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Chester departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Chester may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Chester leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pierre Vegas and Evelia Vegas; his sisters, Velvina Rappelet and Barbara Ginn; and his son-in-law Tim Vegas.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Guillot; his children, Jessica Vegas and James Wright, Jr. (Kim); his godchildren, Barney, Troy and Hewitt; and his sister Alvertra Gautreaux (Hewitt). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
