He is survived by: his wife Brenda Higginbotham; his children, Jason Higginbotham, Lacy Pope, Samantha Cropsey and Tiffney Carroll; his son-in-law Victor Carroll; his grandchildren, Jordan Kinchen (Carolyn), Tyler Kinchen, Devon Higginbotham (Elizabecca), Conner Higginbotham, Jocelyn Mayhone, David Poole, Mahala Cropsey, Annaliese Pope and Kaysen Higginbotham; his great grandchildren, Everett Kinchen and Sterling Kinchen; his stepmother Sammy Higginbotham; and his siblings, Donald Higginbotham (Linda), Dorothy Taylor, Novelyn Broom, Linda Lassiter (Adam) and Joseph Higginbotham (Amanda).
In lieu of flowers Darrel has asked that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research.
