She was predeceased by: her husband C. J. "Jay" Smith, Jr.; her father John W. Bass Sr.; and her fathers-in-law, C. J. "Jerry" Smith, Sr., Serving, Kristian Stroud, Michael Lawrence, Poncho Sauseda, Todd LeJuene, Forrest Sibley, Dakota Sibley, David Smith, Tim Chapman, Chad Forbes and Benjamin Lavigne.
She is survived by: her daughter Stephanie Smith Lawrence (Michial); her grandson Kristian; her mother Osene Bass; her brother John W. Bass Jr.; her niece Tiffany Sauseda (Poncho); her mother-in-law Shirley Smith; her cousins, Wanda Forbes and Staci Lavigne; and her pets, Princess and Bebe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Debbie's name to the American Diabetes Association, or ASPCA Denham Springs Animal Shelter.
