He is survived by: his wife Sheilah Dugas Coates; his children, Gary Coates Jr., Elise Forcino, Monica Champagne and Alysha Hackney; and his siblings, Lorraine'Cookie'Coates, Wayne Coates, Frank Coates and Glen Coates. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
